I am that friend people been telling to post for years 😂. Fear of being seen and managing the pressure of being a voice is so real. Substack feels quieter and more thoughtful and that’s why I joined it. Still no one knows I’m here so… “Inputs over outcomes” for me too. Interested and curious about discovering this framework 😊
I hear you on that pressure. It’s real, and I think so many people would show up more if they weren’t carrying the weight of having to “be a voice” perfectly. That’s exactly why Inputs Over Outcomes matters because it shifts the focus back to showing up with intention instead of chasing a result. Just sent the framework over to you so you can take a look. Excited to hear what you think!
That means so much, Brittany. That shift you just made, framing your voice as something that prepares your people, is exactly the kind of clarity I pray these words unlock. Not just to die empty, but to live full and faithful. Thank you for adding so much to this.
“When we stay silent, the people who need our voice stay unprepared. Not because everyone should be talking, but because someone out there is waiting for what we’ve been carrying.” - THIS! 🙌🏾
I’m interested in receiving your inputs over outputs tactics, because I’m VERY guilty of staying silent even though I know what I want to say and share has value 🌚
Shay, I hear you. Inputs Over Outcomes is all about shifting the focus to what you can control so the weight of staying silent starts to lift. Sending it to you now! :)
I felt like you were reading my mind! I'm often the friend in a group gathering that keeps their thoughts to themselves. Not because I don't have something to say, but because I often don't feel like trying to overtalk others. So yes, I suppose the same thing could apply to content creation. "Inputs over Outcomes". Thanks
Sent and Edrika, I get that completely. Sometimes it’s not about having nothing to say but choosing the right moment to say it. Inputs Over Outcomes works the same way for content, letting you share without the pressure to compete for volume.
Sent and Galemarie, I hear you. That pressure is real but focusing on inputs gives you a way to move without carrying the weight of everyone’s eyes. It’s how you keep going even when the exposure feels heavy.
This is so me. What was supposed to be only one month of deactivating my IG account is now two months…easy lol. I also don’t like the pressure of being seen by others as an “expert” when you begin to share what’s inside of you. It can be done in such a dehumanizing and graceless way. I want to share thoughts w/out being positioned in a way that takes away from my humanity. So I write into the abyss on here lol. Thanks for writing this!
Sent and Diamond, I feel this. The pressure to show up as an ‘expert’ can strip away the very humanity that makes our words worth sharing. Writing into the abyss can be its own kind of practice but I hope you find spaces where your voice can be received as fully human too.

This is so true and was the reframe I needed! I've been telling myself I want to die empty but I love the framing of not living my people unprepared!

Inputs over outcomes because its BEEN time for me to share, but the pressure that comes with exposure often leaves me at a standstill
